Getting to Mablethorpe by Train
Although Mablethorpe no longer has its own railway station, the town can still be easily reached by using nearby rail connections and onward bus or taxi services. Visitors travelling from cities such as London, Nottingham, Sheffield and Leeds often arrive the Skegness, Lincoln or Grimsby train stations, and then continue their journey to the coast.

Skegness Train Station

The Skegness Train Station offers regular trains to and from Nottingham, provided by East Midlands Railway. This trip takes just over 2 hours and will place you right in the centre of Skegness. Just outside of the station is a taxi rank, and located to the rear of the station is the Bus Station (See below for more information on buses). Grimsby Train Station

Grimsby Train Station offers regular trains to and from Manchester, Cleethorpes, and Barton-upon-Humber, among others, provided by Northern Railway. Grimsby has great connection links to most of Lincolnshire, with buses running from Grimsby to Mablethorpe (via the town of Louth) several times a day. There are a number of taxi services that operate in our local area that often transport people and their luggage from nearby train stations, airports and seaports. This is often be the preferred method, especially when arriving later on in the day, after the last bus route.

Travelling around Mablethorpe
Once you arrive in Mablethorpe, getting around is simple and enjoyable. Many of the town’s attractions, beaches, arcades and shops are located within a short walking distance of each other, making it easy to explore the local area at your own pace.

Land Train
Mablethorpe’s land train, “Landy” operates throughout the summer months and provides an enjoyable trip from the Seal Sanctuary, down to the main entrance of the beach in town.
The train stops off at various caravan parks and points of interest along its journey at regular 20-30 minute intervals. Rides are just £2 per person and under 3’s ride for free. This service is both disabled and dog-friendly.
Taxi Services
For visitors looking for a quick and convenient way to travel around our town or nearby villages, taxis and local transport services are widely available throughout the year. During peak summer months and major events, booking in advance is recommended.
